Rebuilding Syria from Within

In 2025, Karam expanded into Syria while continuing to strengthen our core programs in Turkiye, all grounded in the values that drive our work. We opened and registered Beit Karam.
Beit Karam is a creative, educational, and civic hub dedicated to rebuilding opportunity for young people and families across Syria—those returning home and those who never left.

Beit Karam restores schools, revitalizes learning spaces, and brings hands-on innovation to communities across Aleppo, Idlib, Damascus, and beyond. It exists for one purpose: to ensure that every young person in Syria has access to education, creativity, and opportunity.

School Rehabilitations

Reopening the Doors to Education
Years of conflict left countless schools damaged, closed, or unsafe. Beit Karam leads a targeted, high-impact effort to rehabilitate learning environments so students can return to clean, safe, and fully functional classrooms.
Our restoration work includes:
Structural and safety repairs (basic repairs, stability checks, secure entrances)
Full classroom refurbishment (windows, doors, paint, floors, walls)
Electrical and power upgrades (lighting, rewiring, solar panels)
Water, sanitation, and plumbing repairs (bathrooms, handwashing, clean water access)
Furniture and learning space redesign (desks, seating, functionality)
To date, we have restored over 17 schools nationwide, benefiting more than 10,000 students. Each school we rebuild helps students return to education and renews hope within their communities.

Karam Caravan

Innovation on Wheels for Syrian Teens

Karam Caravan is Beit Karam’s mobile makerspace: a fully equipped studio that brings hands-on learning, creativity, and technology directly to youth across northern Syria, rural areas, and the areas hardest hit by the war.

Each Caravan includes:

  • 3D printers & laser cutters
  • Robotics and engineering kits
  • VR and digital design tools
  • Art, storytelling, and community workshops
  • Trained mentors, facilitators, and youth leaders

Karam Caravan removes access as a barrier, ensuring that students in cities, towns, and remote villages can explore innovation, develop real skills, and imagine new possibilities for their future.

The Journey Home

We support Syrian families returning from Turkiye with Return Packages that cover travel, rent, home repairs, school supplies, food baskets, and basic needs. Designed for the critical first months back home, these packages stabilize families and reduce the risk of repeated displacement. For mothers, we are expanding this support to include basic health and nutrition guidance, helping ensure children’s well-being from day one. We are also offering Arabic classes that ensure returning youth have the linguistic confidence and capacity to succeed in Syrian universities and professional settings.
