I used to worry about making ends meet. Now I worry about acing my next exam.
Going Beyond the Basics
For too many families, displacement comes with impossible choices. Do you send your child to school, or do you send them to work? Do you keep them learning, or do you keep them alive?
We refuse to accept that reality.
Karam Families provides direct financial support so children stay in school where they belong. But we don’t just stop at financial aid—we rebuild the foundation for these families to thrive.

Rebuilding with skills, dignity, and community
Karam Families eliminate those choices by providing direct financial support so children stay in school where they belong. But we don’t just stop at financial aid—we rebuild the foundation for these families to thrive.
You can’t build a future if you’re stuck in survival mode. That’s why we go beyond the basics and provide families with the tools to take control of their lives.
Karam Families isn’t about getting by—it’s about moving forward.
We equip parents with real skills. How do you navigate a foreign banking system? Apply for jobs? Support a child with ADHD? Deal with bullying? Our workshops give parents the answers—and the confidence—to build a better life.
We close the language gap. The first generation of Syrian kids in Turkiye grew up speaking only Arabic, so we taught them Turkish. Now, the next generation only writes Turkish, and as they prepare to return home, we’re teaching them Arabic so they can continue their education in Syria. We see the gaps before they exist—and we fill them.
We protect childhood. Every year, we provide thousands of children with back-to-school backpacks so they walk into class ready, confident, and equal to their peers.
We preserve dignity. No parent should have to choose between feeding their family and celebrating their culture. That’s why we distribute grocery cards during Ramadan, ensuring families can observe the holy month with joy, not struggle.
We bring moments of joy. Even in hardship, families deserve sweetness. That’s why we run cooking and baking sessions for mothers, because a homemade dessert isn’t just food—it’s a reminder that hope is still on the table.
